DISCOLORATIONS – TREATMENTS

Discolorations are marks that lie in the level of skin visibly differing in color from their environment. They mainly develop on skin exposed to excessive solar radiation and are caused by overabundant activity of melanocytes (pigment cells).

Removing discolorations is a difficult process that requires systematic work primarily through proper home care. The most resistant of all types of discolorations is chloasma, which has strong recurring tendencies. Within discolorations, which can easily undergo therapy we can distinguish : age-discolorations and post-inflammatory discolorations. Skin pigmentation is a continuous process that occurs each day. Theoretically, substances that reduce discoloration of the skin should be delivered each day.

The removal of discolorations through cosmetic surgery takes place in several stages: treatments of exfoliation of the epidermis (deep peeling) and supportive treatments. The therapy works on the level of melanocytes (pigment cells of the skin) in order to reduce the production of melanin (dye) and to remove the skins surface, on which discolorations are visible.

Removing discolorations is a procedure that goes through many stages:
1. Medical peeling that removes discolorations of the epidermis. The recommended range depends on the severity of the skin change.
2. Whitening or suppressing the synthesis of melanin (pigment). The whitening agents are indicated in all types of discolorations. Usage should be systematic and long-term.
3. Effective sun protection with SPF 30.
4. Avoiding excessive exposure to sun radiation.
